The increasing need to work within space-restricted areas has created a demand for larger excavators that can also work within tighter quarters and provide greater productivity. Caterpillar is please to introduce the newest addition to its Compact Radius (CR) lineup with the 325C LCR. This excavator has been designed to rotate with a minimal amount of counterweight hanging over the tracks, which allows it to work in tight, confined areas.
Even though the Caterpillar 325C LCR has been designed for use in specific applications that require high maneuverability in confined spaces, it still maintains the ability to accomplish tasks in a variety of applications where space is not a factor.
The Caterpillar 325C LCR has a tail swing radius of 1900 mm (6'3”) as compared to 3050 mm (10'0”) for the standard Caterpillar 325C L. This reduction of tail swing may allow for swing operation with greater confidence knowing that the tail of the machine only has a minimal amount of overhang.

The boom tower on the Caterpillar 325C LCR has been moved more towards the center of the machine, this results in overall greater lift capacity over the front as compared to the standard 325C L. In addition to the repositioning of the boom tower, the Cat 325C LCR utilizes the undercarriage of the 330C L, which allows for an extremely stable operating platform.
Many of the same proven components that are used in the Cat 325C L are also utilized in the Cat 325C LCR. This includes the same front linkage options, the powerful Cat 3126B ATTAC HEUI fuel system and high performance hydraulic system.
The Cat 325C LCR was designed with full consideration given to ground level maintenance. This includes ground level access to the engine oil filter, fuel water separator, air filters, batteries, and the pilot and drain hydraulic filters.
