The Lexion 470 combine has all the advanced harvesting technology offered on the world's most productive combine - the Lexion 480 and 485 - but in a smaller size. Accelerated Pre-Separation (APS) threshing system, rotary separation, in-the-cab adjustments, optional auto-pilot and optional 3-D sieves are just a few of the reasons that make the 470 a leader in grain quality and production efficiency.

The 470 provides header control that lets you easily fine-tune your harvest.
The feederhouse is the longest in the industry and offers additional features.
The header and feederhouse can be reversed to clear blockages. For safety, the reverser motor can only be engaged when the threshing system is turned off.
The exclusive APS system increases capacity. Normally, to get fast harvest speeds you have to either give up grain quality or accept higher losses - not with LEXION combines.
Caterpillar combines raise the standard for straw walker performance, letting you harvest at higher speeds without increasing losses. The LEXION 460 and 465 feature six high-performance straw walkers to enhance the effect of increased agitation.
The preparation pan is in two halves; each section is removable from the front.
The upper ventilated step provides an intensive pre-cleaning process. Light material is suspended in the wind stream, carried over the sieves and discharged out of the machine.
Each of the six turbine fans have their own air inlet. This prevents air starvation to the fans and provides a consistent blast of air to the sieves.
Shutter plates are available, which reduce the air intake area of the turbine fans when harvesting light crops. These shutter plates are adjustable to restrict the air flow to suit crop conditions.
Upper and lower sieves operate in opposite directions resulting in smoother running and less wear and improved self-cleaning of sieves.
Top and bottom sieve openings can be controlled from the cab at the press of a button or the combine can make its own sieve setting based on the type of crop to be harvested.
When working across slopes, the crop slides downhill on the sieves and the air flow takes the line of least resistance. Chaff and straw are no longer held in suspension and a mat of material begins to build up on the sieves, resulting in severe grain loss. Solution: The Cat 3-D slope compensation system.
Working on level ground, the normal action of the 3-D sieve is to move backward and forward sorting grain from chaff.
Monitoring output gives the operator the final check on grain loss from the sieves, rotors and walkers.
Returns are distributed in front and across the full width of the accelerator and then undergo the full threshing and separation process again. It is easy to visually check the returns while harvesting.
The grain elevator is designed to move large volumes of grain to the tank. The elevator chain tension is adjusted by a conveniently positioned draw bolt.
Large capacity. The operator is informed of the quantity of grain in the tank by both visual and audible warnings.
The grain tank filling auger floats on the rising crop and fills evenly from the middle of the tank.
Grain tank unloading is operated by a switch on the multi-function control lever.
Caterpillar combines give you the best grain handling and quality monitoring systems available.
Hood opens completely for easy access to conveyor chains and snapping rollers.
Rollers are front supported and equipped with four adjustable blades with tungsten inserts and a helicoidal ends for easier stald insertion.
The rotary system is easily accessible for inspection and service.
The engine compartment is open and accessible, and side doors open wide.
With more than 70 years of experience in providing the best possible support for customers, Caterpillar has built the most extensive mobile service fleet in the country.
The parts distribution network works 24 hours a day to make sure that when you need a part, you'll get it - fast.
