Benefits & Features

Overview

State Of The Art Technology

More useful loading, lifting, and moving power is made possible by a careful balance of Caterpillar powertrain and hydraulic system components. Optimum machine balance gives higher tipping loads without additional power-robbing counterweight.

Modern Operator's Environment

This new F-Series Cab provides enhanced visibility, ergonomic controls, new pilot hydraulic controls and offers a wide range adjustment to fit any operator.

High Production Loader Design

New bucket design has improved load characteristics. Legendary Caterpillar Z-Bar linkage provides tremendous breakout force.

Operator Station

Operator Comfort

The F-Series cab combines Caterpillar's advanced human dynamics engineering with operators' most requested features. The result is a spacious work environment that promotes productive operation.

Visibility

More glass and fewer obstructions are the key to the 924F's excellent all-around visibility. Clear silicon seals and bonded glass on the windshield help maximize forward visibility. New longer wiper arms provide clear visibility in adverse conditions.

Easy Operation

New pilot hydraulic controls give the 924F uncompromised ease of operation and precision.

More Seating Options

There is a wide choice of seat options. The Cat Contour Series Seat, right, is the premier seat option and is designed for maximum comfort and fully-adjustable support.

Rollover Protection System

Caterpillar cab and Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) are standard in North America and Europe.

Falling Objects Protective Structure

. Also meets the following criteria for Falling Objects Protective Structure: - SAE J231 JAN81. - ISO 3449-1984.

High Performance Power Train

Caterpillar 3114T Engine

The 924F operates at full-rated net power of 78.3 kW (105 hp). The 3114T turbocharged diesel engine delivers long power strokes and high torque rise.

Torque Converter

Converter provides the most efficient application of engine power for maximum rimpull and responsive implement hydraulics. Maximizes both fuel efficiency and performance.

Cat Power Shift Transmission

Built rugged for highly reliable service in tough applications, the Cat Powershift Transmission is an electrically-controlled countershaft transmission providing four forward and three reverse speed ranges.

Caterpillar Axle and Brakes

Axles

Oscillating rear axle ensures four-wheel ground contact for optimum traction and stability. Fixed front, oscillating rear (±12 degree).

Brakes

Oil-disc brakes are adjustment-free and fully enclosed. Meets the following standards: OSHA, SAE J1473 OCT 90, ISO 3450-1985.

Final Drives

Planetary final drives consist of ring gears and planetary carrier assemblies.

Differentials

Choose from standard, NoSPIN or Limited Slip differentials to adapt to a wide range of operating conditions. Limited Slip differentials are available on front, rear or both axles.
