Overview

For variable shaft speeds and easy reversing, a Cat® Transverse Thruster (fixed pitch) gives you maximum reliability and minimum downtime.

The Cat Transverse Thruster (fixed pitch) is a propeller-type thruster used when shaft speed is variable and ease of reversing is important. You’re in complete control with the highly reliable electronic control system and interface to joystick and DP systems.
With heavy-duty gears and bearings as well as customized blades, the MTT is suitable for electric motor or diesel engine drive and will reliably meet your individual requirements. What’s more, maintenance is quick and painless—the complete thruster can be mounted and dismounted in the tunnel.
The MTT is available in two configurations: a heavy-duty MTT suitable for DP applications and an auxiliary MTT suitable for harbor maneuvering.
